Role Title: Assistant Programme Manager
Business Unit: Digital Infrastructure
Location: Glasgow
Role Purpose:
We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Programme Manager to support the successful delivery of major projects through effective programme planning, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. Working closely with the Glasgow-based PMO team and reporting directly to the Programme Manager, you will assist in the development, maintenance, and reporting of project programmes across both pre-construction and construction phases.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing and updating project schedules, monitoring contractor performance against agreed baselines, maintaining project trackers, and supporting the preparation of weekly and monthly reports for both internal stakeholders and clients.
This role requires strong planning, communication, and analytical skills, along with experience using programme management software and working within a project management environment.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Support the Programme Manager and PMO team in the development, maintenance, and update of overall project programmes.
- Develop and maintain outline schedules for projects during pre-construction and construction phases.
- Monitor contractor programmes and progress against approved baseline programmes.
- Track project performance and identify programme risks, delays, and areas requiring intervention.
- Assist in the production and compilation of weekly and monthly client reports.
- Maintain and update project progress trackers to support client and project team discussions.
- Collaborate with PMO team members and Project Managers to gather programme updates and reporting information.
- Monitor the timely production of project documentation and ensure delivery milestones are achieved in line with programme requirements.
- Support internal and external programme reviews and participate in progress meetings.
- Provide programme-related analysis and reporting to support project delivery and decision-making.
Maintain accurate programme records and ensure reporting data is current and reliable.

About You
- Holds relevant qualifications such as APM – PMQ / Prince 2 and a relevant CSCS card.
- HNC / HND in relevant discipline
- An ability to communicate effectively with technically oriented people, including the ability to present programme options professionally to clients and internal PMO
- Knowledge of programming tools, such as, MS Project and Asta Powerproject
- Commercial awareness — i.e. understanding programme impacts on cost, risk, and overall project strategy.
- The flexibility to meet the challenges of fluctuating workloads and multiple assignments with tight deadlines that may require non-standard work hours from time to time.
- IT Literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Security clearance to DV level will be essential.
- Available to attend other regional offices and attend sites in UK if required.
Able to attend the office in Glasgow, 5 days a week.
