Hourly rate: Negotiable, depending on experience
Working days: 3 days out of 7
Shift timings: 10.00 – 15.00 (with flexibility required for events)
Working hours: 15 hours per week
Job Purpose:
You will support our long-term care residents by developing and administering comprehensive activity, educational, and social programs, including arranging special events.
Duties:
· Analyse the needs of our residents in order to create meaningful activity schedules, which will stimulate their minds, lift their spirits and promote socialisation.
· Encourage, help and inspire residents to get involved in planned activities.
· Plan trips locally or further afield, keeping in mind community events, annual events and celebrations.
· Record all activities undertaken by residents on the computer system on a daily basis.
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations.
Skills/Qualifications:
Meeting Planning, Scheduling, Internal Communications, Written Communication, Computer literacy, Bedside Manner, Initiative, Energy Level, Multi-tasking, Proactive, Organisation
Experience:
Ideally, you will have previously been an Activities Coordinator or equivalent and have worked with those with dementia or learning difficulties.
