Senior Engineering Supervisor

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Supervisor to lead on-shift engineering operations, driving equipment reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across our site.
You’ll play a key role in supervising a multi-skilled team, ensuring fast response to breakdowns, strong preventative maintenance, and full compliance with safety and food standards.
?? What you’ll be doing

Supervise and support a team of engineers across Abattoir, Butchery & Site Services

Drive a culture of proactive maintenance and continuous improvement

Ensure quick and effective response to breakdowns, minimising downtime

Monitor and deliver KPIs including downtime, PPM, and work order completion
-
Oversee daily engineering service sheets and shift performance
-
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards

Manage contractor control, permits and on-site activity
-
Support audits and deliver associated action plans
-
Lead shift briefs and ensure strong communication across teams

Act as a key point of contact on shift and deputise for the Engineering Manager
? What we’re looking for
Essential:
-
Apprentice trained with a recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an FMCG or chilled manufacturing environment

Proven experience supervising or leading engineering teams

Strong understanding of PPM systems, plant reliability and downtime reduction

Knowledge of Health & Safety, safe systems of work and contractor control
-
IT literate (experience with systems such as Holistech beneficial)
Desirable:

Experience within food or meat processing environments
-
Knowledge of Lean / 5S / continuous improvement tools

Experience supporting audits and driving compliance standards
