Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Digger Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators and other related equipment, to facilitate excavation, trenching, and site preparation activities. Your mechanical knowledge and expertise in operating excavators will be essential in ensuring efficient project progress while maintaining safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects, supporting the development of vital community assets.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling tasks
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Follow detailed project plans and specifications to execute excavation tasks accurately
- Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective gear and reporting hazards or incidents promptly
- Assist with site setup, including positioning machinery and preparing work zones for excavation activities
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery in a construction environment
- CPCS Card
- In Date safety Critical Worker Medial Certificate
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Commitment to safety standards and best practices in construction operations
