Job Title: Automotive Engineer (Door Sealing and Brightware)

Job Summary:
Lead the mechanical design, development, and validation of automotive door sealing systems (aperture seals, primary/margin seals) and brightware components (cantrail, waistrail) from concept to SOP. Ensure compliance with functional requirements, cost, weight, and quality targets while driving innovation through client-aligned technology roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design and development of door sealing and brightware systems (concept to SOP).
- Define system specifications, test plans, and validation protocols to meet project milestones.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure deliverables align with functional requirements.
- Develop technology roadmaps for door sealing/brightware systems, integrating client insights and emerging technologies.
- Manage design resources, suppliers, and timelines to achieve system requirements.
- Monitor engineering timelines, escalate critical issues, and present technical updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to automotive industry standards for durability, NVH performance, and aesthetics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience:
- 5+ years in leading door sealing and brightware development (automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier).
- 10+ years in end-to-end automotive product development (minimum 2 full product cycles).
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in door sealing materials (rubber, thermoplastics), manufacturing processes (extrusion, molding), and brightware design (metal finishing, corrosion resistance).
- Proficient in CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of automotive product lifecycles and regulatory compliance (e.g., water ingress, wind noise standards).
