Overview
We are seeking dedicated support workers to provide high-quality care for care leavers, asylum seekers for young adults aged 16 to 25 years within our Kingston Homes and nearby areas.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, safety, and independence of clients with diverse needs, including those requiring support with household tasks(cooking, cleaning, budgeting), social interaction and providing emotional support while adhering to personalised care plan and safety maintenance . Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as manage their tenancy licence, prepare meals, shop and manage personal finances and clean their home to promote independence and dignity.
- Signpost and support for individuals with accessing local amenities like doctor, dentist and mental health teams in the area.
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and ensuring safety.
- Support residents with preparing nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance clients' mental health and overall wellbeing.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to client care environments to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation.
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when needed, maintaining calmness and professionalism at all times.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care practices including trauma informed practice, and senior care is advantageous.
- Certification in first aid and medication administration is preferred; however, training can be provided for suitable candidates.
- Record Keeping, maintaining accurate daily notes, monitoring and updating senior management on support needs and identified risks.
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients or running errands as part of the role.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals through personalised care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed; some roles may involve weekend work depending on service requirements.
