Location: Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Newport, TF10 9AT
Salary: £31,000per annum, plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Full-time, 39 hours per week, 5 days per week. Shifts include 06:00–14:00, 07:00–15:00, 11:30–20:00 and 13:00–21:00. Weekend working required to support sports camps, functions and events.

You’ll play a key part in creating an environment where great food, teamwork, and care for our community come together. What you’ll do as a Sous Chef

Support the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen and deputise in their absence

Prepare and cook dishes to agreed standards of quality, presentation and consistency

Ensure food safety, hygiene and storage procedures are followed at all times, including completing required records and checks

Delegate and monitor cleaning tasks to ensure kitchen cleanliness standards are maintained

Assist with menu development and recipe creation alongside the Head Chef and Nutritionist to meet diverse dietary and nutritional requirements

Support kitchen colleagues, promote high standards of performance and help create a positive and collaborative team culture

Complete stock orders when required and help ensure efficient kitchen operations

Work flexibly across mornings, evenings and weekends to support sports camps, weddings and other events
Does this sound like you?

Minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification

At least two years’ experience working within a professional kitchen environment

Experience preparing high-quality food while maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders

Able to lead by example, build trust and support the development of others

Adaptable and comfortable working in a busy and varied environment

Previous experience catering for large numbers would be beneficial
