Barnes Brinkcraft is looking for a friendly, confident and organised Part-Time Receptionist to join our busy team for the summer season.
This is a seasonal role with an immediate start until October, working a minimum of three days per week: Friday, Saturday and Monday, from 8am to 5pm. There may also be the opportunity to work one or two additional days per week, especially during busy periods.
We are a family-run boating holiday business based in Hoveton, right by the Norfolk Broads. Our customers come to us for boating holidays, day boat hire and riverside holiday homes — so reception is often the first friendly face, or voice, they meet.
About the role
This is a varied receptionist role in a very busy holiday business. No two days are quite the same, which is part of the fun — although we should probably warn you, it can be very busy at times.
You will be helping customers in person and over the phone, answering questions, supporting arrivals and departures, and helping the team keep things running smoothly.
Main duties include
- Welcoming customers when they arrive
- Answering phone calls and dealing with enquiries
- Helping customers with booking information and general questions
- Supporting holiday home, boating holiday and day boat arrivals
- Taking messages and passing information accurately to the right team member
- Helping with general reception and admin tasks
- Staying calm, polite and helpful when things get busy
- Dealing fairly and professionally with the occasional grumpy customer — without taking it personally
We are looking for someone who is
- Friendly, outgoing and confident talking to people
- Happy dealing with customers face-to-face and over the phone
- Accurate, organised and able to pass on information clearly
- Calm under pressure
- Positive, practical and willing to help with a wide variety of tasks
- Reliable and able to work Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays
- Comfortable working in a busy customer-facing environment
- A natural people person with a sunny personality
Reception, hospitality, retail or customer service experience would be useful, but the right attitude is just as important.
