We have a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated HGV Shunter here at Runtech, based at our Tata Steel site, Trostre. Initially the role will be temporary but may lead to a permanent position within Runtech.
The ideal candidate will be required to operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle to move scrap material on the Tata site as well as be responsible for materials handling as part of their role.
The Role:
· Operating Class 1 articulated vehicle to transport arising scrap material on site
· Completing daily vehicle defect checks and shift reports
· Working safely in accordance with company and client procedures
· Representing Runtech professionally on customer sites
· Maintaining high housekeeping and equipment standards
· Ideally the operator will also be trained to load out scrap material using a material handler.
Safety, reliability and customer service are central to this role.

- Relevant industry experience including tipping of articulated bulk trailers
- Enthusiastic and committed with a flexible approach
- Demonstrates a positive and motivated attitude.
- Drive to maintain a safe working environment and work in line with Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Good organisational skills
- Able to complete daily shift reports and daily drivers’ defects
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with good attention to detail
- Operate a HGV 1 vehicle and plant safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with our Health & Safety procedures
Requirements:
- Full and clean UK Driving Licence
- Valid CE (Class 1) category Licence preferred or site based Class 1licence
- Previous HGV experience required
Package:
- £14.26/hour basic pay
- 50 Hours per week (minimum) – Monday to Friday
- Overtime opportunities with enhanced rate of pay
- Auto enrolled onto the company pension scheme after 3 months
- 28 days holiday per year inclusive of Bank holidays
- Uniform and PPE Provided
The successful candidate will be subject to our induction process that will include drug & alcohol testing.
