About Farm Shop by Origin
Farm Shop by Origin is our deli and café based in the City of London, close to Farringdon.
Our offer brings together high-quality coffee, fresh food, carefully selected produce and ingredients connected to our family farm and wider Origin story.
As we develop our new deli and café offer, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Barista Supervisor to help lead the day-to-day service and establish consistently high coffee and guest-service standards.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role for an experienced barista who is confident leading a shift, supporting colleagues and taking responsibility when the Deli Manager is not present.
You will prepare and serve excellent coffee while helping the team deliver warm, efficient and knowledgeable service. You will organise the counter during busy periods, monitor coffee quality, support opening and closing procedures and help maintain high standards across the deli.
You will work closely with the Deli Manager and kitchen team to ensure that products are available, displayed attractively and served safely and accurately.
This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced barista or café team leader who is ready to take greater responsibility and continue developing their leadership skills.
About You
You are a barista supervisor who takes genuine pride in coffee quality and guest service.
You remain calm and organised during busy periods and can give clear direction while continuing to work alongside the team. You notice when standards begin to slip and address issues positively and professionally.
You should have:
- Strong practical barista experience in a busy café, deli, restaurant or quality coffee environment.
- Confidence preparing espresso-based drinks to a consistently high standard.
- Experience leading shifts, supporting colleagues or taking responsibility during service.
- A warm, confident and professional approach to guests.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- The ability to coach team members constructively and lead by example.
- An understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness and safe working practices.
- Confidence using an EPOS system and handling payments.
- A reliable, hands-on and collaborative approach.
Salary and Working Pattern
- £36,000 per year.
- Full-time, permanent position.
- 40 hours per week.
- Shifts scheduled across Monday to Sunday.
- Predominantly daytime shifts, usually scheduled between approximately 7 am and 5 pm.
- Weekend and bank-holiday availability will be required.
- Based at Farm Shop by Origin in the City of London, close to Farringdon.
Training and Development
We invest in practical, in-person training and continuous development.
Training will include coffee and service standards, food and product knowledge, allergen awareness, food safety, health and safety and the story behind Farm Shop by Origin.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their leadership experience and contribute to the growth of our new deli and café offer.
