Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for our residents. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for overseeing daily care activities, supporting junior staff, and ensuring that personalised care plans are effectively implemented. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.
Duties
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver high standards of personalised care to residents
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Implement and review individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate medical personnel
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment within the care home
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere
- Organise activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation for residents
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding policies
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or within a care home environment, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Ability to develop, implement, and adapt care plans tailored to individual needs
- Competent IT skills for documentation and updating resident records accurately
- Driving licence is advantageous for supporting transportation requirements
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to supervise multiple tasks simultaneously
- Compassionate nature combined with patience and excellent interpersonal skills
