Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for our residents. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your supervisory skills whilst providing exceptional care in a supportive environment. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for overseeing daily care activities, supporting junior staff, and ensuring that personalised care plans are effectively implemented. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.
Duties
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver high standards of personalised care to residents
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Implement and review individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate medical personnel
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment within the care home
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere
- Organise activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation for residents
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding policies
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or within a care home environment, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Ability to develop, implement, and adapt care plans tailored to individual needs
- Competent IT skills for documentation and updating resident records accurately
- Driving licence is advantageous for supporting transportation requirements
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to supervise multiple tasks simultaneously
- Compassionate nature combined with patience and excellent interpersonal skills
