Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker who is fluent in English to support adults living in supported living services.
The role involves providing person-centred, strengths-based support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and/or physical disabilities, enabling them to live as independently and safely as possible in their own homes and communities.
Fluency in English is a genuine occupational requirement for this role, due to the communication needs of the individuals we support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person-centred support in line with individual support plans
Promote independence, dignity, and choice
Support with daily living activities, including:
Personal care (where required)
Meal preparation and nutrition
Household tasks
Shopping and budgeting
Support individuals to access the community, appointments, and social activities
Support with medication in line with training, competency, and organisational policies
Maintain accurate daily records and documentation
Work safely in line with lone working and safeguarding procedures
Build positive, professional relationships with individuals, families, and professionals
About You
Essential:
Fluent in English (spoken and understood clearly)
Caring, patient, and respectful approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
Desirable:
Experience in supported living, social care, or healthcare
NVQ/Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health needs
Full UK driving licence (role dependent)
