Schools are now preparing for September, and we're looking for dedicated, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary SEMH school in Mitcham.
If you have experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or managing challenging behaviour, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference while joining a supportive and experienced school team.

The Role
You'll support pupils with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Encouraging engagement with learning.
- Using positive behaviour management strategies.
- Helping children develop emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
- Creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff.

This role is best suited to candidates with previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
