Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our Crisis Assessment Service team, specializing in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing compassionate care, implementing behavioral strategies, and ensuring safety during critical moments. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, patience, and a strong commitment to empowering individuals through personalized support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centered care tailored to each individual’s unique needs during crisis situations
- Assist with daily activities, including personal hygiene, medication administration, and meal preparation
- Apply behavioral strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to de-escalate challenging behaviors
- Monitor and document individuals’ progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and adapt support plans effectively
- Ensure the safety of individuals by maintaining a secure environment and responding promptly to emergencies
- Support individuals in developing life skills and promoting independence within their capabilities
Qualifications
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism, or other disabilities
- Knowledge of Positive Behaiour Support techniques and their practical application
- Prior experience working in special education or patient care settings preferred
- Ability to administer medication safely following prescribed protocols
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with individuals and team members
- Compassionate approach with patience, resilience, and problem-solving skills
Contracts/Shifts
We are currently offering 20 hour contracts, 30 hour contracts and 40 hour contracts working either waking nights or on day shifts. Our shift patterns are 8am-4pm/ 4pm-10pm/ 10pm-8am.
The ideal candidate will be flexible in working shifts across the week in line with the needs of the rota, including weekends.

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
