We’re looking for someone to become a key part of running and growing brew’d.
Six months ago, we opened the doors to brew’d. Since then, we’ve grown quickly, built an incredible team and created something we’re really proud of. Now, we’re looking towards the next stage of brew’d and we need another great person to help us get there.
We’re looking for someone to become a key part of running and growing the business. Someone who can work closely with the Directors, take real ownership of the day-to-day operation and help us build what comes next
This isn’t just a shift manager role. We already have a small, capable team who can open, close and run the shop day-to-day. We’re looking for someone who can take a step beyond that - someone we can trust with the business, who can take ownership when the Directors aren’t there and help us make brew’d better.
You’ll work on the shop floor alongside the team, but you’ll also be part of the thinking behind how we operate, improve and grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running the shop confidently in the absence of the Directors
- Working regular shifts as part of the team and leading by example
- Maintaining high standards across coffee, food, service and presentation
- Supporting, coaching and developing the team
- Spotting problems and fixing them before they become bigger problems
- Helping with rotas, staffing and day-to-day organisation
- Keeping an eye on stock, wastage, ordering and operational costs
- Helping implement new systems and ways of working
- Supporting events, launches, menu changes and new ideas
- Feeding back honestly on what is and isn’t working
- Helping us improve the customer experience and the way the shop operates
- Taking ownership of projects and areas of the business as the role develops
- Working closely with the Directors on the continued growth of brew’d
Who We’re Looking For
We’re less interested in finding someone who simply has “Manager” on their CV and more interested in finding someone with the right attitude.
You’ll be someone who:
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do
- Genuinely cares about hospitality and good service
- Notices the little things
- Can make sensible decisions independently
- Is organised, reliable and calm under pressure
- Is comfortable leading people while still being part of the team
- Can give and receive honest feedback
- Brings ideas and isn’t afraid to challenge us when something could be better
- Understands that running a small independent business sometimes means getting stuck into whatever needs doing
- Wants to help build something, rather than simply turn up and run shifts
Management or senior hospitality experience would be useful, but finding someone we trust, who understands what we’re trying to build and has the potential to grow with us matters more.
The Role
You’ll sit directly below the Directors and become one of the main people responsible for the day-to-day running of brew’d.
There’ll still be plenty of time working on the floor - making coffee, serving customers, sorting problems and working alongside everyone else - but you’ll have greater responsibility and involvement in the wider business.
As brew’d grows, we want this role to grow with it.
Ultimately, we’re looking for a third pair of hands, eyes and brains - someone who cares about the place like it matters, and who we can trust to keep brew’d moving in the right direction when we’re not in the room.
