Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, with a particular focus on senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall wellbeing.
Duties
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs.
- Organise group events, individual activities, and special outings that promote socialisation and engagement.
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity programmes.
- Foster a warm and inclusive environment that encourages residents to participate actively in daily life.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to understand preferences and special requirements.
- Assist in adapting activities for residents with mobility issues or sensory impairments.
- Monitor health and safety during activities to ensure a secure environment for all participants.
Requirements
- Experience working in assisted living environments, nursing homes or care homes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with older adults.
- Previous caregiving or activity coordination experience within a senior or dementia care setting is advantageous.
- Organised with excellent planning skills and the ability to adapt programmes as needed.
- Passionate about enhancing residents’ quality of life through meaningful engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to compassionate care. Pay: £12.71-£12.80 per hour
