An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join Norwich City Football Club in the role of Academy & Women’s Performance Lead.
This role will be responsible for designing, leading, and delivering a best-in-class physical performance framework across Norwich City Football Club Academy & Women’s teams. This role will synthesise physical preparation, science, and performance nutrition that optimises squad availability, athletic development, and on-pitch competitive advantage.
Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and integrate Physical Preparation, Performance Science and Nutrition services across the Academy and Women’s programme, creating a seamless player development pathway.
- Drive performance excellence by developing and aligning physical training methodologies, athletic development standards and individual development plans across all squads.
- Use performance insights to optimise player readiness, recovery and injury prevention, translating complex data into actionable recommendations for coaches and staff.
- Manage and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team, providing leadership, recruitment, CPD opportunities and performance management for practitioners and interns.
- Oversee departmental operations, including performance testing, budget management, SOP governance and the continuous enhancement of performance systems and processes.

Qualifications / Experience:
Essential
- Postgraduate degree in a Sport Science related subject
- BASES Accreditation and/or recognised strength and conditioning qualification (e.g. NSCA, CSCS, UKSCA)
- Experience (>3 years) of delivering service in professional football, with familiarity of EPPP
- Track record of successfully leading teams of support staff in elite sport
- Demonstrable experience of planning and leading an interdisciplinary team.
- Live ATMMiF / ITMMiF certificate
- Safeguarding training within elite sport
Desirable
- Experience (>5 years) of delivering service in elite sport, ideally with familiarity with female athlete populations
- Existing experience of the leadership of a department
