Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at our Sherburn in Elmet site. This role plays a key part in supporting our manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment, installations, and processes meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical systems, manufacturing processes, and PLC programming to contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within a fast-paced production environment.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Electrical Engineer, you will support manufacturing and engineering functions to maintain and improve operational performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting electrical installations and observing operations to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards
- Reading and interpreting CAD drawings to support engineering and manufacturing activities
- Using computer-assisted design software (e.g. AutoCAD) to complete engineering tasks (training can be provided)
- Supporting product development, testing, and implementation within the manufacturing department
- Carrying out quality assurance checks on ongoing projects
- Assisting with fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment
- Working with PLC and HMI systems (Rockwell/Siemens) to support automation and control processes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and performance
- Keeping up to date with the latest developments and innovations in electrical engineering
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures and Health & Safety standards

About You
We’re looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Electrical Engineer who can bring technical expertise and a strong work ethic to the team.
Ideal candidates will:
- Hold an HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Have extensive experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Be competent in the use of engineering and design software (e.g. AutoCAD)
- Have a strong understanding of electrical systems and manufacturing processes
- Be experienced or familiar with PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell and/or Siemens)
- Have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Be able to read and interpret technical and CAD drawings
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Have knowledge of kitchen manufacturing or paint processes (advantageous but not essential)
