Job Summary
HY Accountants is a growing UK accountancy practice based in Hendon, providing accounting, tax and business advisory services to a wide range of clients including SMEs, property investors and all other types of businesses.
Due to business growth, we are looking for an experienced Mandarin speaking accountant assistant/bookkeeper to join our team.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as VT transactions, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Moneysoft, or similar platforms.
- Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
- Handle client VAT returns.
- Help client running payroll system.
- Prepare self assessment tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Liaise with HMRC and Companies House Support clients with accounting and tax related queries recording and reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience with accounting software such as VT transactions, QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero, Moneysoft.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in managing accounts payable processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accountant within a financial services environment or similar sector.
- Good knowledge of UK accounting and tax compliance
- Experience preparing limited company accounts
- Mandarin speaking required Effective mentoring skills with the ability to support team development.
- Relevant qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent are highly desirable.

Pay: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
