What you will be doing
You will be supporting the Clinical Psychologist in the functional assessment, planning and delivering of an effective PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) approach to children and young people who present with behaviour that challenges and/or mental health needs.
Where directed, you will have the opportunity to work independently including assessing, planning, implementing and monitoring PBS plans. You will also support the development of PBS through systematic collection of clinical outcomes data and by taking part in audits and research.

As a Positive Behaviour Practitioner you will be:
- Supporting the Clinical Psychologist in the matters relating to Positive Behaviour Support.
- Maintaining relevant registers and databases.
- Co-ordinating, organising and ensuring that Positive Behaviour Support plans are maintained to the highest standards.
- Undertaking other admin duties and roles as directed
- Providing cover for Psychology colleagues as request
- Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
- Communicating internally and with external professionals with the utmost professionalism
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Assistant Psychologist or PBS practitioner.
- Bachelor's degree relevant to registration.
- Post-grad qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis or PBS or sufficient relevant experience of working within a PBS service. (Desirable)
- One-year + experience of working with young people with complex mental health, learning disability and/or autism and behaviour that challenges.
- Up-to-date knowledge of policies/procedures/clinical issues relating to the service user group.
- Experience of conducting functional and other assessment of behaviour that challenges.
- Experience of utilising PBS in hospital settings with CYP with LD and/or ASD and/or complex mental health.

The Learning Disabilities and Autism (LD&A) Regional Service at Elysium Healthcare provides highly specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism who may present with complex mental health needs, behaviours that challenge, forensic histories, or additional neurodevelopmental conditions. Working within a person-centred and multidisciplinary framework, the service focuses on promoting recovery, independence and improved quality of life through bespoke care pathways, positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions and comprehensive discharge planning. Covering the Midlands and North region, the service currently operates across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Staffordshire, with further expansion planned through a new service opening in County Durham. This regional approach enables individuals to access specialist care closer to home while benefiting from coordinated clinical expertise, ensuring safe, effective and outcome-focused support tailored to each person's unique needs, strengths and recovery goals.
