Overview
Budgens Fore Street is looking for a Catering Assistant to work in the shop's kitchen.
The role will involve the preparation and cooking of food to be sold in the store's Food-to-Go display area.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including making salad pots and fresh baguettes;
- Bake pastries and savouries which are served in the shop's hot food display;
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, display equipment, fridges and freezers in compliance with food safety regulations;
- Telephone and internet ordering of stock;
- Maintain inventory levels of supplies and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste;
- Work alongside management to develop and promote the products sold in store.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation is highly desirable;
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team;
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and perform physical tasks efficiently;
- Basic cooking skills or culinary experience preferred.
The role will be for five shifts a week between the hours of 6am-12pm, including weekends.
All candidates must be 18 years old or over.
Pay: £12.75 per hour
