Owlsworth is a group of specialist construction companies operating at the top end of our respective sectors, the largest of which is a building conservation contractor working on prestigious and unique projects for clients that include Historic Royal Palaces, National Trust, English Heritage, Oxford Colleges, plus private clients often on large country estates and the odd windmill.
We are looking for a proactive and organised office-based Operations Assistant to support our Directors, Contracts and Office teams. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities across office management, operations, project support, facilities and HR administration and would suit someone keen to get involved in all aspects of a construction business.
Office & Facilities Administration
- Reception and office cover

Operations & Compliance Support
- Purchasing administration
- Training records and course bookings
- Driving licence checks
- Travel coordination
- First Aid / Fire Marshal administration
Project Administration
- Support to Project and Site Managers
- PQQs and tender administration assistance
- Subcontractor compliance and insurance tracking
- Labour and agency worker administration
Payroll & HR Administration
- Payroll processing
- New starter onboarding

Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience in office administration, operations support, facilities coordination, or business support.
- Experience working within the construction, property, or manufacturing sectors.
- Understanding of subcontractor documentation, compliance, or PQQ processes.
- Experience supporting payroll, HR, or recruitment administration
