Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front of House Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a high standard of service and have a keen eye for detail to ensure the smooth operation of the cafe. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks using a barista machine
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanour
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Keep the cafe clean and organised, including clearing tables and cleaning work surfaces
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise waiting times for customers
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or serving experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety regulations is preferred
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required
- Must be available to work Sundays as this will the contracted work day, Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary as well as covering holidays

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
