We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Banksman to join our team at a busy recycling facility in Northampton, Swan Valley NN49BD. The working hours are Monday-Friday 1200-2000.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a safe and efficient site, assisting with the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians around the facility, while also ensuring operational information is recorded accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and guide vehicles safely around the recycling facility.
- Assist drivers with manoeuvring, reversing and positioning vehicles.
- Maintain a high level of awareness of site safety and follow all health & safety procedures.
- Ensure pedestrians and vehicles are kept safely separated where required.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, colleagues and site management.
- Record accurate operational data, including vehicle movements and relevant site information.
- Complete paperwork and site records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report any hazards, incidents, defects or safety concerns to management.
- Keep the working area clean, organised and safe.
- Follow all company procedures and site rules.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced as a Banksman, Vehicle Marshal or in a similar site-based role.
- Previous experience within the recycling, waste management or industrial sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- Safety-conscious with a good understanding of working around large vehicles and machinery.
- Confident communicating with drivers and colleagues.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a busy operational environment.
- Able to accurately record information and complete paperwork.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team.
- Able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
