Professional Skills and Experience – Complex Care Nursing
Candidates should demonstrate experience and competency in some or all of the following areas:
- Active NMC registration as an RGN, RMN, RNLD, or RSCN/RN Child Nurse.
- Experience delivering complex clinical care within community, home care, hospital, or specialist settings.
- Competence in PEG feeding, enteral nutrition, and medication administration.
- Skilled in tracheostomy care, including routine care, emergency management, suctioning, and deep suctioning.
- Diabetic management
- Total Parenteral Nutrition connection and disconnection
- Experience managing airway support and respiratory care needs.
- Competent in colostomy/stoma care and bowel management programmes.
- Knowledge and practical experience in seizure management and epilepsy care.
- Understanding and management of dystonia and other neurological conditions.
- Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge, including PMVA or equivalent de-escalation training.
- Competence in managing IV access devices, including Hickman lines and central venous access care.
- Ability to undertake clinical observations, risk assessments, and timely escalation of concerns.
- Strong medication management and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to develop, implement, and review person-centred care plans and clinical protocols.
- Strong communication and leadership skills when working with families, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions within complex care environments.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, infection control, clinical governance, and professional accountability.
Pay: £20.00-£23.00 per hour
