We are recruiting for a enthusiastic, experienced chef for a lovely Care Home.
£15.05 Per Hour and 32hours per week
Early Shift 8am to 5pm
Late Shift 10am to 7pm
5/7 days including every other weekend
THIS ROLE MAY BECOME 40 HOURS
The Chef works with the Head Chef to ensure that catering is provided within the care home and must ensure that high standards and high customer satisfaction are delivered, all kitchen services are efficient, and that the required Health and Safety measures are in place and adhered to.
In addition, they are responsible for ensuring that food presentation achieves high standards at all times, meeting resident needs. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the delivery of all catering services throughout the home, ensuring that resident choice, dignity, confidentiality and safety are maintained.
Engage with residents and Head Chef to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, at all times, meeting the special needs or dietary requirements of residents. This must include knowledge of cultural and religious preferences.
Support cost-effective stock control systems and ensure these are in place to minimise waste.
Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas at all times, in accordance with the appropriate food hygiene regulations and relevant food safety management system in place.
Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment. Reporting any item of equipment found to be faulty or deemed unsafe from use and report it to the facilities Manager.
Comply with safe working procedures and practices in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.
Participate in events held in the home, liaising with the Head Chef to ensure nutrition and hydration needs are met, as well as social aspects of such events.
Attend and participate in a monthly food forum.
Comply with the HR policies and procedures, providing a role model for departmental staff.
Attend initial and update mandatory training as required.
Actively engage in personal professional supervision including quarterly one-to-one meetings and a yearly performance review, ensuring personal professional knowledge and competency is maintained.
