We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Technical Lead to join allpay and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology estate.
This is a senior technical leadership position responsible for driving the evolution of our hybrid infrastructure environment, spanning Microsoft Azure, private cloud and on-premises platforms. You'll provide technical direction, lead a team of talented infrastructure engineers, and help deliver a Cloud First strategy that underpins critical services for both our business and customers.
You'll be equally comfortable discussing cloud architecture, automation and resilience strategies as you are coaching engineers and leading technical delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership across our Azure, private cloud and on-premises infrastructure estate.
- Lead the design, implementation and optimisation of scalable, resilient cloud solutions.
- Drive automation initiatives using PowerShell, ARM templates and Azure-native technologies.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and major technical challenges.
- Champion best practices around monitoring, performance management, disaster recovery and service resilience.
Strategy & Transformation
- Play a leading role in delivering our Cloud First strategy and Azure migration programme.
- Contribute to infrastructure architecture decisions and long-term technology roadmaps.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance performance, security and customer experience.
- Lead major infrastructure projects and collaborate with suppliers and technology partners.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Infrastructure Engineers.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Support career development through coaching, knowledge sharing and performance management.
- Manage priorities and resources to ensure successful delivery of operational and project work.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership capability.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience leading infrastructure teams within a cloud or enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS).
- Experience delivering cloud transformation and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server technologies.
- Experience operating and supporting hybrid infrastructure environments.
- VMware and/or Hyper-V administration experience.
- Experience with monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning and disaster recovery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Knowledge of Teams and VoIP technologies.
- Experience within highly available, enterprise-scale infrastructure environments.
- Experience within financial services, payment platforms or regulated industries.
