Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Classic Car Fabricator / Welder to join our specialised team dedicated to restoring and customising vintage automobiles. This role involves precise metalwork, welding, and fabrication to bring classic vehicles back to their former glory or create bespoke modifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with various tools, and the physical capability for heavy lifting. Responsibilities
- Fabricate and modify vehicle panels, chassis, and structural components using specialised welding techniques.
- Perform precise metal repairs and restorations on classic cars, ensuring authenticity and quality standards are met.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to shape, cut, and assemble metal parts.
- Conduct heavy lifting of vehicle parts and materials safely and efficiently.
- Inspect completed work for quality, fitment, and adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with the restoration team to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of automotive structures.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, grinders, and wrenches.
- Experience with power tools including angle grinders, drills, and welding equipment (MIG/TIG).
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely; physically fit for demanding tasks.
- Attention to detail with a keen eye for authenticity in vintage car restoration.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
