Job Description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative Kitchen Team Member (or aspiring chef) to join us on an exciting project. This is a hands-on role that’s ideal for someone who wants to make their mark. You’ll be working closely with our Kitchen Manager and management team to shape the menu, test dishes, and help bring a fresh new chapter of Coffee Lounge 44 to life. Full availability is required, as you’ll be part of building our new after-hours offering — a relaxed, sociable dining experience that complements our signature coffee culture alongside our existing successful Brunch menu.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Take a second-lead role in preparing, presenting dishes with consistency,
creativity, and care.
- Learn and cook the already-existing Breakfast menus
- Uphold high standards of food hygiene, kitchen organisation, and attention to
detail.
- Bring new ideas to the table — from small plates to sharing boards and
comforting favourites.
- Help establish and maintain efficient kitchen systems and workflows for evening
and daytime services, without management present.
- Support daytime preparation and special events when needed.
- Be adaptable to learning new chef skills and improving your culinary excellence.
- Be part of an exciting new chapter for an independent business with big
ambitions.
- Maintain the highest levels of kitchen cleanliness and existing measures of clean
as you go. If you are to be working ‘close shifts’ you are expected to work until
the kitchen is cleaned down adequately.
- Maintaining stock rotation daily and when deliveries have arrived and need to be
put away.
- As you progress with us and improve your skills, you will go through the rankings
of Kitchen stature and will be rewarded accordingly.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous kitchen or café experience preferred — but passion and initiative
matter most.
- A flair for flavour and presentation, with confidence to experiment and create.
- A genuine interest in food, flavours, and the customer experience.
- Strong sense of ownership — someone who thrives when given creative input
and working independently.
- Willingness to work a range of shifts from early mornings to evenings as
required.
- A calm, positive, and team-oriented attitude.

Pay: £12.21-£16.66 per hour
