Anchor and Blossom is delighted to be developing Dunard House, our first children's residential service. We are looking for caring, compassionate and committed Waking Night Residential Childcare Workers to join our new team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a brand-new service from the beginning and play an important role in creating a home where children and young people feel safe, valued, respected and supported.

About the Waking Night Role
As a Waking Night Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our young people are safe, secure and supported throughout the night.
You will be responsible for maintaining a calm and reassuring environment, providing appropriate supervision and responding sensitively when young people need support.
You will:
- Remain awake, alert and available throughout the night.
- Provide appropriate supervision in line with individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Respond to young people's needs during the night.
- Build positive and trusting relationships.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and provide detailed handovers.
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
- Support young people using trauma-informed and PACE approaches.
- Promote dignity, respect, choice and independence.
We're Looking for People Who...
You don't just need experience – we're looking for the right values and attitude.
You may be an experienced residential childcare worker, social care worker or someone with transferable experience who is passionate about making a difference to children's lives.
We are looking for people who are:

You must be able to remain calm under pressure, work effectively as part of a team and understand the importance of relationships, consistency and emotional safety.

Shift Pattern: 4 nights on / 4 nights off.
