Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Panel Installer to join our expanding renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar photovoltaic systems on various types of buildings and structures. Duties
- Safely transport and set up solar panel components on-site, ensuring all equipment is correctly positioned according to project specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to assemble mounting systems and secure solar panels.
- Perform electrical connections, including wiring panels and integrating systems with existing electrical infrastructure under supervision.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators when required for site preparation or foundation work.
- Conduct welding tasks where necessary to secure mounting structures or repair components, adhering to safety standards.
- Inspect installations throughout the process to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently within designated timeframes.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including proper storage of tools and materials.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
Requirements
- Proven experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and mechanical assembly is highly desirable.
- Basic electrical knowledge or experience with electrical systems is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude coupled with the ability to interpret technical drawings and installation instructions.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights, lift heavy loads safely, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
- Relevant safety certifications or willingness to undertake health & safety training related to construction sites are required.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation between sites but not mandatory for all roles.
