Abbey Dean Care Home is currently looking for Head of care with a passion for care who want to make a difference to people's lives and who have a can-do attitude for both full and part time positions to work during weekdays and weekends.
We are passionate about delivering a high standard of care to our elderly service users. To be considered for this position you should hold a Level 3 Diploma or above in Health and Social Care or be working towards achieving this.
This is a challenging yet exciting position. The successful applicant will have previous experience working in the care industry as Head of shift. They will have the ability to prioritize, work on their own initiative and be able to lead a team of care assistants.
Key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Assisting service users with their activities of daily living.
- Administering and ordering medications.
- Writing and reviewing of care plans.
- Supervision of other staff on that shift.
- Liaising with health professionals.
- To be responsible with the team for continual monitoring of residents physical and mental well-being and immediately reporting any changes in a resident’s condition to the Home Manager or Deputy Manager.
- Accurately updating residents’ records as required
- Assist in updatiung care plans and ensure that they are person centred
- Must be a team player
All you need is the following:
- A current up to date DBS but if this is not available we can assist with this.
- NVQ3 or above in Health and Social Care and can demonstrate good, basic care planning skills
- Ability to effectively supervise individuals and a team.
- A strong and supportive team player.
- Good verbal/ written communication skills, can demonstrate ability to communicate and interact well with residents and others.
- To work flexibly when required for sickness and holiday cover
