Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Driver HGV Class 2 to join our scaffolding team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to deliver a variety of scaffolding equipment, primarily utilizing flatbed trucks. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery experience will ensure timely, efficient, and secure transportation of goods to our customers in various locations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction are top priorities. You will be working along side our scaffolding teams, This is a labour extensive job and would need to be fit and able to carry out manual labour.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo efficiently while ensuring proper securing of loads on flatbeds for safe transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimize time and fuel efficiency while meeting delivery deadlines
- Communicate professionally with team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections in compliance with company policies
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on flatbed transportation or similar cargo delivery roles
- Valid HGV Class 2 license with a clean driving record
- Demonstrated knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for heavy goods vehicles
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities, including load securing and route planning
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting skills
