Assistant Stockperson
Our Business:
We are a family run dairy farm near Cockermouth, milking 650 cows and rearing all replacements across two sites. We calve all year round and are dedicated to producing high-quality milk while prioritising the welfare of our cows. We are progressive and forward-thinking farmers with well invested facilities looking for a motivated individual to join our team.
The Role:
We are looking for reliable person to assist with stockwork on our dairy farm. The role will be primarily calf feeding and husbandry including administering vaccinations and ear tagging. The role will also include general stockwork and milking duties. You will be trained and supported by senior team members where necessary, we work closely with our vets to maximise herd health and welfare conditions for all our animals whilst running an efficient business.
Skills, attitude & experience:
Some experience or a farming background would be preferred however most importantly we need someone with a positive attitude that is willing to learn and work to a high standard within our team. We need someone that is ‘can do’ with good attention to detail and dependable. A valid driving licence is essential for this role.
Pay & Reward:
Working approximately 26 hours per week, with every other weekend scheduled. The specific working hours are open to negotiation, taking into consideration the mutual requirements of the business and candidate.
