The Role
As our Dog Groomer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality grooming services while ensuring every dog enjoys a calm, safe and stress-free experience from start to finish.
You’ll work with a variety of breeds, coat types and personalities, providing expert grooming tailored to each individual dog’s needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
● Carrying out full grooms including bathing, drying, clipping, scissoring, hand stripping (where appropriate), nail clipping and ear cleaning.
● Assessing each dog’s coat and skin condition and discussing grooming requirements with owners.
● Handling dogs with kindness, patience and confidence, ensuring their welfare is always the priority.
● Building strong relationships with clients by providing excellent customer service and aftercare advice.
● Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the salon.
● Ensuring grooming equipment is cleaned, maintained and used safely.
● Monitoring dogs for any signs of health concerns and reporting these appropriately.
● Keeping accurate grooming records and client notes.
● Working closely with the wider Prime Pet Hub team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
● City & Guilds Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming.
● Previous professional dog grooming experience.
● Excellent breed knowledge and grooming techniques.
● A genuine passion for animal welfare.
● Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
● Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member.
● Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
● Calm, confident handling of dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments.
Desirable:
● Experience working within a busy grooming salon.
● Canine First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
