We are looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance Person to join our care home team and help ensure that the home is maintained to a safe, comfortable and high standard for our residents, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general day-to-day repairs and maintenance throughout the care home.
- Undertake basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry and minor electrical tasks where appropriately qualified/competent.
- Carry out routine checks of the building, equipment and grounds.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and maintain appropriate records.
- Carry out regular health & safety and fire-safety checks as required.
- Ensure residents' bedrooms, communal areas and external areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Carry out refurbishment and improvement works within the home.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues.
- Ensure all work is undertaken safely and with minimal disruption to residents.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in general building or property maintenance.
- Practical and able to undertake a broad range of maintenance tasks.
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
- Able to prioritise urgent repairs and manage a maintenance schedule.
- Friendly and respectful when working around elderly residents.
- Health & safety conscious.
- Willing to undertake relevant training.
Previous experience working in a care home, hotel, school or similar residential environment would be an advantage.
A suitable DBS check will be required for this role.
