Fettler, Day Shift
We are a local business that has been in Leicester for over 100 years.
This is a hands on role, particularly suited to a practically minded person.
Once castings have left the foundry, and enter the processing department, this is where the Fettling is required. You will be expected to use a variety of powered hand tools to finish raw castings to an expected standard. The job entails sanding, linishing, and hand grinding all types of our castings.
The successful candidate will be willing and able to work in a fast paced and busy processing environment.
You will demonstrate an ability and desire to be flexible.
To be a successful member of your team, you will be a team player, and equally able to work confidently unsupervised, following instructions and methods as provided to you.
You will be confident and able to communicate effectively.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or casting environment is desirable as is having experience of working in aluminium casting.
Being practically minded, showing an ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing demands is most definitely required!
You will be expected to undergo a skills test as part of any interview process. During this process, all PPE will be provided and you will be under constant supervision. The purpose of this skills test is to make sure that any person employed has the basic skills to handle tools safely. In addition you will then understand exactly what you are letting yourself in for!
Workwear is provided.
