About Final Rentals
Final Rentals is a Cardiff-headquartered global car rental franchise and technology platform, operating across 65+ countries and 500+ locations. We connect independent local rental operators to global OTA channels through our proprietary AI booking engine, BLADE.
As we grow our franchise network and global partnerships, we're looking for an experienced fractional Chief Legal Officer to build out our legal function and provide senior counsel across the business.
The Role
You will working directly with the CEO and leadership team on everything from franchise agreements to investor documentation. This is a fractional role, ideal for an experienced legal leader who wants meaningful ownership without a full-time commitment.
What You'll Own
- Franchise partner agreements (RPAs) globally, including drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution
- Corporate governance, board documentation, and investor/shareholder agreements
- Commercial contracts with OTA and technology partners
- Compliance across our international footprint (data protection, consumer rights, cross-border trading)
- Employment law guidance as the team scales across multiple jurisdictions
- Managing relationships with external counsel in the UK and overseas
- Risk assessment and legal strategy for new market expansion
What You Bring
- Qualified solicitor or barrister (England & Wales), 10+ years PQE
- Experience in-house, ideally with a scaling business or in franchise, travel, or marketplace models
- Comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions and coordinating overseas counsel
- Strong commercial judgment. You give clear, decisive advice, not just risk flagging
- Experience with investor-facing legal work (term sheets, board governance, cap table matters)
- A pragmatic, founder-friendly style that fits a fast-moving scale-up

- Fractional engagement, 2-3 days per week, flexible based on business needs
- Hybrid, with regular time in our Cardiff HQ (Brunel House, Fitzalan Road)
- Direct reporting line to the CEO
- Competitive day rate, dependent on experience
Pay: £500.00-£1,000.00 per day
