Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
- Cook and prepare meals according to specified recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Support with plating and presentation of dishes for service
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety standards
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and restocking supplies as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking within a professional setting is preferred, but a good attitude and willingness to learn is most important
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Basic culinary skills such as chopping, mixing, and basic cooking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different kitchen routines
