University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Estates Operations Manager to provide professional leadership, operational oversight and statutory compliance across a complex multi‑site healthcare estate. The post holder will ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of building, engineering and maintenance services across UHBW sites.
The role includes responsibility for managing multi‑disciplinary technical teams, overseeing planned and reactive maintenance programmes, ensuring adherence to relevant HTMs/HBNs and statutory requirements, and contributing to the Trust’s emergency planning and on‑call arrangements.
The post holder will also provide operational leadership for helideck services in line with Civil Aviation Authority guidance.
You will:
Lead and manage multi‑skilled technical teams across multiple hospital sites
Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance, including HTMs, HBNs and engineering standards
Oversee planned and reactive maintenance programmes
Support helideck operations in line with CAA guidance
Use data and performance insights to drive improvements
Build effective relationships with contractors, suppliers and clinical teams
Contribute to emergency planning, including participation in the estates on‑call rota
Produce detailed operational and performance reports for senior leaders
