Part-Time Management Accountant & Bookkeeper
Location: Central London (Mayfair/Covent Garden)
Hours: Part-time (2–4 days per week – flexible)

About Us
MHG owns and operates a collection of premium wine bars and hospitality venues across Central London, including locations in Mayfair, Covent Garden, Marylebone, London Bridge and Borough Market.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Management Accountant & Bookkeeper to join our team and take ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working within a growing hospitality business and wants a varied role with responsibility.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the business whilst working closely with the Head of Operations and Directors.
The role combines bookkeeping, management accounting and financial reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping
- Daily bookkeeping using Xero
- Bank reconciliations
- Purchase ledger
- Sales ledger
- Credit control
- Supplier payments
- VAT reconciliations
- Petty cash reconciliation
- Company credit card reconciliations
Management Accounts
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Produce monthly profit and loss accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Cash flow reporting
- Forecasting and budgeting
- Variance analysis
- Departmental reporting
- Weekly sales reporting
Payroll
- Prepare payroll information
- Liaise with payroll provider
- Pension administration
- Holiday accrual reporting
Hospitality Reporting
- Daily sales reconciliation
- EPOS reconciliation
- Stock movement reporting
- Labour cost analysis
- GP reporting
- Margin analysis
- Event profitability reporting
Compliance
- VAT returns
- HMRC correspondence
- Maintain financial records
- Liaise with external accountants
- Assist with year-end accounts
- Ensure compliance with financial procedures
About You
You will ideally have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in bookkeeping or management accounting
- Strong knowledge of Xero
- Excellent Excel skills
- Experience within hospitality, retail or multi-site businesses
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Good commercial awareness
- Friendly and approachable personality
AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA would be advantageous but is not essential.
