About the role
Illuminate Care Group is recruiting Bank Support Mentors to support young people aged 16–18 and young adults aged 18–24 across the Doncaster area.
As a bank worker, you will provide flexible cover across our services. Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep-ins, based on service needs and your availability. Bank hours are not guaranteed.
You will help young people develop the skills, confidence and emotional resilience needed to live as independently as possible. You will work as part of a supportive team that provides safe, respectful and caring homes.
No formal care experience is required. We are looking for people with the right attitude, values and willingness to learn.
Your responsibilities
You will:
- Build respectful and professional relationships with young people and young adults
- Support daily routines, wellbeing and emotional regulation
- Help with practical life skills, including cooking, budgeting and attending appointments
- Encourage independence, personal development and goal setting
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and act as a positive role model
- Support care and support planning
- Complete clear and accurate records
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and medication procedures
- Respond calmly and compassionately during difficult situations
- Use basic IT systems and communicate clearly with colleagues and professionals
- Promote the values of Illuminate Care Group
What you will need
You must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Communicate confidently in English
- Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check
- Provide satisfactory employment references
- Be flexible and able to cover shifts based on service needs
- Be willing to complete required training
- Be able to meet the physical requirements of the role, with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate
Previous care or support experience is preferred but not required.
