Supply Chain Planner
Role Purpose
Synchronising end-to-end logistics by balancing customer demand with factory capacity and inventory levels. This role translates sales forecasts into actionable production schedules while managing raw material stock levels to prevent shortages. Acting as the central link between procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure seamless, on-time delivery with zero waste.
Key Result Areas
Daily & Weekly Scheduling
- Generate factory schedules: Develop detailed line-by-line production schedules, ensuring customer receive 100% service levels.
- Sequence production logic: Structure batches to minimize allergen cross-contamination and reduce sanitation/washdown downtime.
- Balance line constraints: Account for machinery limits, and customer order levels.
- Coordinate short shelf-life items: Monitor raw material and finished product expiry dates to ensure zero waste.
Inventory & Material Control
- Align material intake: Ensure raw ingredients and packaging are available exactly when needed.
- Manage stock levels: Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory against dynamic customer sales forecasts.
- Lead stock counts: Oversee physical inventory counts and perform regular reconciliations for fresh, chilled, or frozen zones.
- Manage system Bill of Material (BOM).
- Manage cold store stocks in terms of minimum and maximum holding levels, stock valuations, coding controls, stock utilisation controls and stock adjustment controls.
Cross-Functional Communication
- Bridge operations gaps: Serve as the central communication link connecting the Production, Procurement, Warehousing teams.
- Manage schedule disruption: Adjust live schedules dynamically to handle machine breakdowns, missing materials, or sudden rush orders.
- Report performance metrics: Track and submit weekly reports on Schedule Adherence, Capacity Utilisation, and end of week stock movements.
- Being a driver of generating positivity and ‘can do’ attitude on site.
- Ensuring food safety, legality and quality requirements are always met.
