We’re looking for someone who knows how to run a busy bar, lead a team and take charge of a shift from start to finish. This is a hands-on management role for someone who can work independently, make decisions under pressure and help keep the Cactus Jacks experience at its best.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll be trusted to run shifts independently and make sure everything runs smoothly from opening through to close.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Running shifts independently and taking full responsibility for the venue
- Leading, motivating and supporting the bar team
- Maintaining excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Managing busy periods and handling any issues that arise
- Supporting the General Manager with day-to-day operations
- Helping with opening and closing procedures
- Monitoring stock, cleanliness and bar standards
- Ensuring licensing, health & safety and company procedures are followed
- Supporting events, live music nights and other Cactus Jacks activities
- Setting a positive example for the rest of the team
What We’re Looking For
You should have:
- Previous experience in a bar, pub, nightclub or hospitality management role
- Confidence running a busy shift without constant supervision
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- The ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
- A positive, hardworking and reliable attitude
- The confidence to deal with customers and staff professionally
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great experiences
Most importantly, we need someone we can trust to take the reins and run the shift as their own.
