Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Antiques & Architectural Salvage Joiner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the skilled fabrication, assembly, and restoration of antique and architectural salvage pieces. The ideal candidate will possess strong carpentry and joinery skills, with experience working with hand tools and power tools. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on unique projects that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, contributing to the preservation and transformation of historic materials.
Duties
- Fabricate and assemble architectural components and antique furniture using precise joinery techniques
- Restore and refurbish salvage items to meet quality standards while preserving their historical integrity
- Operate hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, and measuring instruments safely and efficiently
- Use power tools including drills, sanders, and saws to shape and finish woodwork
- Assist with roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, or construction painting as needed for complex projects
- Perform heavy lifting of materials safely to support fabrication and installation processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, carpentry, joinery, or related trades within architectural salvage or antique restoration
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools essential for detailed woodworking tasks
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques including roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical systems, and painting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on craftsmanship quality
- Effective communication skills to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of historical preservation standards is a plus but not mandatory

We have listed this role as a part-time initially but this role very much has the potential to evolve with the successful candidate. This is a role with flexibility and may suit an experienced joiner who fancies a new and different challenge - starting salary will depend upon the level of experience possess but the successful applicant but there is room for negotiation.
Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour
