Link AP Academy is an award-winning Alternative Provision supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and barriers to learning across Bradford.
We are proud to be recognised as Telegraph & Argus Alternative Provision School of the Year 2026.
Our small-group model (approximately 1:4 staff-to-student ratio) allows staff to build strong relationships, provide personalised support and make a genuine difference every day.
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting two Alternative Provision Support Officers.
Role Overview
You will work directly with students within small learning groups, supporting engagement, behaviour regulation and access to education.
This is a relational role requiring patience, consistency and emotional resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students during lessons and structured activities
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people
- Support behaviour regulation and engagement in learning
- Promote routines, expectations and positive choices
- Support the daily set-up of the provision and maintain a clean, organised and welcoming learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
- Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting young people or vulnerable learners (education, youth work or similar)
- Understanding of SEMH needs or barriers to learning
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality to ensure consistency for learners
- Ability to remain calm, patient and professional
