As a Network Neonatal Unit we are a progressive level 3 unit currently providing 12 intensive care/high dependency, 8 special care and 16 transitional care cot’s, serving the population of Devon and Cornwall. It is anticipated to expand following collaborative ODN agreement and publication of the National Neonatal Service Specification.
Our accomplished nursing establishment, ANNP team, designated medical staff, Outreach Service and tier of support staff facilitate the local ethos of delivering highly specialised care in partnership with parents. The Neonatal Transport Service, SoNar South is also located within the unit, which provides an expert retrieval service and gives QIS staff further opportunity to advance their clinical skills.

Responsible for the delivery of effective quality care in accordance with local, Service Line and Trust policies and guidelines with the support of the senior nursing team

Demonstrate a knowledge of clinical nursing practice by delivering evidenced based care
Manage a patient workload using clinical judgement and decision-making skills whilst maintaining

Competent in the use of medical devices and responsible for the correct use of specialist equipment
by the multidisciplinary team
