Luke 9:48 Homes is looking for an experienced, caring and confident Senior Support Worker to join our team in Maidstone.
We are urgently looking for someone who can take responsibility, lead by example and help us provide a high standard of care to children and young people.
This is an important role within the home. You will support the management team, provide guidance to colleagues and help ensure that young people receive consistent, safe and nurturing care.
About the role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home and provide leadership and support to the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Acting as a positive role model to young people and colleagues.
- Building strong, trusting and professional relationships.
- Taking responsibility and providing leadership during shifts.
- Supporting and guiding other members of the staff team.
- Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are followed consistently.
- Supporting young people with routines, education, activities and appointments.
- Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Supporting the emotional wellbeing and development of young people.
- Completing accurate records, daily logs and relevant documentation.
- Communicating effectively with management and other professionals.
- Supporting safeguarding procedures and company policies.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming home.
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Attending team meetings, supervision and training.
- Taking responsibility for delegated tasks and ensuring they are completed appropriately.
