MOT Tester and Vehicle Technician Job Description
Overview
This is a full time role Monday to Friday with no mandatory weekend working.
We are seeking a Class 4 MOT Tester and vehicle technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge for ensuring vehicles meet safety and environmental standards.
As a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester, you’ll carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and you will complete a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair work from advanced diagnostics & repairs to routine services.
Duties
- Conduct MOT tests on a variety of Class 4 vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
- Document findings accurately and provide clear explanations to customers regarding any issues identified during testing.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or equipment as required during the testing process.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure the highest level of service.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with minimum 3 years experience in MOT testing
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, demonstrating physical fitness for the role.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid MOT Tester certification.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.

Pay: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
