We are looking for passionate and dedicated Leaving Care Support Workers to join our team supporting young people aged 16–18 years old (with occasional support for young people aged 13–18) as they transition from care into independence.

About the role
As a Leaving Care Support Worker, you will support young people to develop the skills needed to live independently and achieve their goals.
Your role will include:
- Working on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis supporting young people
- Helping young people develop independence and confidence
- Supporting with life skills including budgeting, cooking, cleaning and managing bills
- Helping young people maintain their accommodation and develop tenancy skills
- Supporting access to education, training and employment opportunities
- Encouraging positive choices and healthy relationships
- Supporting young people to access appropriate services and external agencies
- Organising and attending social activities
- Acting as a positive role model
- Completing accurate records, reports and paperwork
- Attending meetings, training and reviews when required
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting young people
- Calm, patient and confident when dealing with challenging behaviour
- Able to build trusting relationships with young people who have experienced trauma
- Flexible and willing to work a mixture of day and night shifts
- Reliable and adaptable when covering additional shifts
- Confident setting boundaries and challenging behaviours appropriately
- Able to maintain professional records and complete paperwork to a high standard
- Committed to helping young people achieve independence
Essential requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle
- Business insurance (required for mileage payments)
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts when required
- Ability to attend training and team meetings
Desirable:
- Experience working within children’s residential care, supported living or a similar setting
- Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People, Health & Social Care or equivalent
Flexible working options available
We offer a range of contracts including:
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Part-time hours (20/25 hours available)
- Bank and zero-hour contracts
Full-time employees may have the opportunity to work additional hours up to 48 hours per week where they choose to opt out of the Working Time Regulations.
